“In a firm and resolute tone, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has communicated a clear message to the Naxals: ‘It’s either dialogue or force.’ The CM emphasized this while addressing a gathering in Sukma district, a region that has been plagued by Naxalite activities for several years.
Sai reiterated the government’s commitment to dialogue, but also made it clear that the state would not hesitate to use force if necessary. He stated, ‘We are ready for dialogue, but the Naxals must understand that we mean business. We will not compromise on the security of our citizens.’
The CM’s statement comes amidst a series of discussions between the government and the Naxals to find a peaceful solution to the ongoing conflict. However, Sai highlighted that the onus is on the Naxals to demonstrate their sincerity in these talks.
He urged the Naxals to lay down their arms and join the mainstream, saying, ‘We extend our hand for peace, but we will not tolerate violence. It’s time for the Naxals to realize that the path of violence leads nowhere.’
Sai also praised the efforts of the security forces, commending them for their courage and dedication in combating the Naxalite insurgency. He expressed confidence in their ability to maintain peace and security in the state.
