In the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, security forces have taken swift action against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. The house of Farooq Ahmed, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist currently residing in Pakistan, was demolished in Kupwara, marking the sixth such operation post-Pahalgam attack. Properties linked to other terrorists, including Adil Ahmad Thokar, Ahsan ul Haq Sheikh, Asif Ahmad Sheikh, Shahid Ahmad Kuttay, and Zahid Ahmad Ganie, were also targeted.

Two terrorists suspected to be involved in the Pahalgam attack had their houses destroyed – Adil Hussain Thoker in Bijbehara and Asif Sheikh in Tral. Adil Thoker is believed to have aided Pakistani terrorists in carrying out the assault in Baisaran Valley. Anantnag Police has offered a reward of Rs 20 lakh for information leading to the capture of Thoker and two Pakistani nationals, Ali Bhai and Hashim Musa, responsible for the attack.

The attackers, reported to be 4 to 5 in number, ambushed tourists in Baisaran Valley on April 22, firing AK-47s. Security forces are intensifying their search for the suspects, with sketches released to aid in their capture.
