BSF Thwarts Infiltration Attempt as Pakistan Attacks Border

New Delhi: The Border Security Force successfully prevented an infiltration attempt in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba amidst drone and missile attacks from Pakistan. On May 8, 2025, BSF stopped a major infiltration bid at the International Boundary in Samba district, J&K. Several areas in Jammu, RS Pura, Samba, Hiranagar, and Arnia experienced heavy shelling from Pakistan and India, aimed at military installations. Pakistani drones were also intercepted in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The Defence Ministry confirmed that military stations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur were targeted by Pakistani drones and missiles. Fortunately, there were no casualties or material losses. The Indian government remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty. The Information and Broadcasting Ministry stated that India responded to Pakistan’s escalation bid with a measured and non-escalatory approach. Blackouts have been implemented in border areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.
