New Delhi:
As tensions between India and Pakistan continue to escalate, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held discussions with the Director Generals of border guarding forces on Thursday to assess the situation. He also engaged in talks with the Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) regarding airport security.
Pakistan targeted military stations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur near the International Boundary, according to Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff. However, the Indian Armed Forces successfully neutralized the attack without any reported losses.
In response to ceasefire violations and firing across the Line of Control by the Pakistan Army, Indian air defense units intercepted and blocked eight missiles directed at various sectors in Jammu and Kashmir. The defense sources noted that the visuals in Jammu resembled a Hamas-style attack on Israel.
The Defense Ministry stated that Pakistan attempted to engage military targets in Northern and Western India using drones and missiles on May 7, but these attacks were neutralized by the Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defense systems. Following this, Indian Armed Forces targeted Air Defense Radars and systems in Pakistan with the same intensity.
Pakistan’s unprovoked firing across the Line of Control resulted in the loss of sixteen innocent lives, including women and children. India responded to bring the mortar and artillery fire from Pakistan to a halt. The Indian Armed Forces reiterated their commitment to non-escalation, provided it is reciprocated by the Pakistani military.
